Hi!! I've been wanting to post for a long time but haven't got the time to do so ><
Here's my second blog post!
Today, I'll be sharing with you guys some tips that I know for the game Ensemble Stars!! Music xD It's my favourite game at the moment and I guarantee that you won't be bored from it - simply because of its never-ending events and continuous update of the main story HAHAHA!!! I really greatly appreciate Happy Elements for that. xD
Before I start, do note that this is just a casual blog post I am writing for the game and I'm doing this simply as a fan of the series!
All the screenshots of the game interface below strictly belongs to Happy Elements K.K.
So let's dive in! xD
Tip #01: How to get a higher score for live stages?
In Ensemble Stars!! Music, live stage score depends on 3 factors:
- Difficulty Mode and your performance in the live stage,
- Level of your cards + Unlocking Idol Road, &
- The compatibility between the nature of the selected song and your cards.
Let me explain how these factors could affect your live stage score.
Factor #01: Difficulty Mode and your performance in the live stage
In Ensemble Stars!! Music, there are 4 difficulty modes to every song: Easy, Normal, Hard and Expert. Technically, the greater the difficulty, the higher the number of notes you have to hit in the same song, the higher the live stage score you would have. However, this principle only holds if you can get a Full Combo (meaning you manage to hit all notes with Good/Great/Perfect) for every difficulty mode.
Take a look at the example below!
I played RYUSEITAI's song "Unlimited☆Power!!!!!" both on Hard mode and Expert mode with the same cards. I was able to get a Full Combo on Hard mode, but not the Expert mode. As you can see, my score for Hard mode is almost 70,000 points higher than when I play in Expert mode.
And when I played Knights' "Grateful Allegiance" both on Hard mode and Expert mode, with the same cards again, but this time getting a full combo for both, the Expert mode gave me a score almost 180,000 points higher than the Hard mode.
Therefore, my suggestion for you is play the difficulty mode you're most comfortable in getting a full combo with. This way, you would be able to maximise your score, which is extra important when playing events!
Factor #02: Level of your cards & Unlocking Idol Road
This is more straightforward.
Wataru's card at Level 10 could contribute a total of 15,372 points, while Kanata's card at Level 13 contributes a total of 16,674 points.
In other words, the higher the level of your cards, the higher the score they contribute to your Live Stage. :)
However, as you can see, I have yet to unlock the idol road (アイドルロード) on both these cards.
When you unlock Idol Road, you can further strengthen your idol or card's total score.
So what's Idol Road?

Here's how it looks like.
In Idol Road, you basically use jewels or items earned from Live stages, Jobs and Events to unlock the potential of your idol (card). ^^
The further you unlock their "potential", the more points they contribute to your live unit and the higher the score you get from your live stages!
As you can see here, both Tori's card and Leo's card are at the same level (both level 57). However, Leo's idol road is 71% unlocked while Tori's card is only 30% unlocked. Now, compare the total score of both cards, there's a drastic difference right!

You need to collect jewels from live stages, jobs, login bonus, and events to unlock each part on the idol road. Think of it as "ingredients" to strengthen your idol or cards!

Besides strengthening your cards on idol road, you can also unlock character side stories, room costumes as well as MV costumes!
Oh ya! And another thing about idol road I just learnt about!
Wow it took me real long to discover this. HAHAHA
Apparently, if you advance an Idol's card on Idol Road during their Birthday, there will be a discount on the amount of <Status Pieces> required for the advancement!

I made use of this benefit and advanced the new Niki HoneyComb Summer card on his idol road during his birthday!

There isn't a drastic difference in the amount of <Status Pieces> required but all these discounts at each stage adds up! It is great especially if you tried your Oshi's birthday scout and finally got their Feature Scout cards! xD
Factor #03: Compatibility between the nature of the selected song and your cards.
In Ensemble Stars!! Music, the cards are usually framed with a coloured frame. These frames actually tell us what type of cards they are.
Red refers to Sparkle.
Green refers to Glitter.
Yellow refers to Flash.
Blue refers to Brilliant.
If you have taken note of the game enough, you would have also realised that these colours also appear on the top left hand corner of different songs.
So what does this mean?
For example in RYUSEITAI's "Unlimited☆Power!!!!!", which is a "Sparkle" type, having your team consists mostly of "Sparkle" type cards would give you a greater score.
As you can see, changing Mayoi (a "Glitter" type card) to Ritsu (a "Sparkle" type card) changed the estimated total score drastically. This is because my Live Unit now has more "Sparkle" cards, making the Unit more "compatible" with the song, thus deriving a higher score.
Tip #02: Item Drops
The item drop rate in Ensemble Stars Music mostly depends on the amount of BP spent for Live Stages. The higher the amount of BP spent, the higher the item drop rate.
The term “Item Drop Rate” however, remains as a very vague term. Till today, I still have no idea if it refers to a higher chance for you to get more items or if it refers to being able to get more rare pieces. With my experience, the former happens most of the time but the latter does happen as well. Well I guess it just depends on your luck then?
When there are no ongoing events, you get to choose to spend between 1 BP to 3 BP. When there are ongoing events, the option of 6 BP and 10 BP will also be made available as shown in the screenshots below.

Here’s a look at what kind of items I get with different amounts of BP spent.

As you can see, you do get more pieces of items the more BP you spend. However, as much as you do get more items, rare items like <big-sized status pieces> still don’t appear much.
And the thing is these <big-sized status pieces> are often the items you do not have enough of when trying to advance in “Idol Road”.
Then how can I build up my inventory of “Rare Items” like the <big-sized status pieces>?
There are 4 ways of doing so.
- Daily Login Bonus
- Participating in Mini Events (e.g., Hikaru Subaru, Halloween, Birthday Events)
- Playing the game even when there are no events
- Playing the events (even if you are not aiming for the cards; just play casually with your available BPs each day.)
Yes, Happy Elements is trying to get us to stay committed to the game by playing everyday HAHAHA!! No complaints though. In this way, I’m never bored of playing Enstars. xD
These are pretty straightforward but I would like to elaborate more on
Method #03: Playing the game even when there are no events.
When there are no events, Happy Elements actually allocates an "increase in drop rate for certain colour of status pieces" for different songs each day. For example, on this particular day, <Crazy Roulette> had this increase in drop rate for <Yellow Status Pieces>.

Playing at 3 BP indeed gave me a fair amount of <Yellow Status Pieces> and I even got 2 big sized ones!! xD

Tip #03: Getting 5 Star Event Cards
There isn’t any particular strategy for getting event 5-star cards because everyone has their own schedules and preferences. So instead, I will be sharing some things you should take note of when playing for an event, and also share some good practices I usually do when playing events.
There are 2 types of events in Ensemble Stars Music, namely: New unit song/Shuffle Unit event as well as Tour Event.
Unit Song/Shuffle Unit Event looks like this:

Tour Event looks like this:

I will first share with you more about playing the unit song/shuffle unit events.
In such events, the five-star card is usually placed as a reward at 3.5 million event points. This type of events will usually last for 8.5 days (if you include Day 0 of the event). With that, if you are aiming to get 1 piece of the five-star event card, you’ve got to earn at least 400k event points daily, starting from Day 0.

Many people would ask about this:
“Is there a way to get the five-star card without using daiyas?”
The answer is “NO” unfortunately.
I have played several events thus far and I could safely say that you have to use around 800 daiyas to achieve 3.5 million event points for the five-star card. Unless Happy Elements spoils us with the free 100 whistles bonus like what they did for the Motorshow event and Branco event HAHAHA

Those 100 whistles is equivalent to like a 200 daiyas discount!!!
Otherwise, yep, roughly 800 daiyas are needed. It’s a lot I know.
I will share some tips for you to earn daiyas through such events and reduce the deficit to your Daiya bank balance later on. :)
But before that, let us first talk about how much BP we should play at during events like this. :)
How much BP should we play at?
Alright, so technically, playing with lesser BPs gives you more experience points over time, which means you level up faster and at every level you rank up to, your BPs and Work Tickets will get replenished, thus you use SLIGHTLY lesser daiyas.
HOWEVER, from experience, even if you have all the time to play the game, your hands would most probably ache real badly if you were to play at 1 BP for the entire day, for days. Moreover, your progress will be very very slow.
That is why if you have the time, I would recommend you playing at 3 BP or 6 BP instead, for you to progress faster and at the same time, earn experience points for ranking up faster than if you were to spam 10 BP in each play.
If you are busy with work and don’t have much time, playing at 10 BP is perfectly fine to be honest. It will just cost you probably 10 to 20 daiyas more, which isn’t that huge of an amount if you think about it.
If you have Bonus cards...
If you have event bonus cards, put those cards in your team, either in the main performance team or the support team! They will give you a huge boost in event points, which cuts down on the number of plays you need and eventually reducing your total daiyas spent for the event!
I once had multiple copies of a four-star bonus card from a feature scout and that gave me a whopping 20% boost in event points!!! Just look at it! 30k event points in a single 10 BP play!!!

Play your best songs!
Play your best songs, songs that you can score an S+ or get full/perfect combo with because these will give you higher event points. The difficulty mode you play is not a significant factor with regards to the event points, so prioritise on the songs you can score well in and get a high combo with.
Doing "work" お仕事 regularly is important!
Do “work” regularly as they also earn you event points.
Ribbon Store and unlocking Event-special "work"
At the Ribbon store:

The first thing you should exchange your event ribbons for should be the event costume blueprints. This will allow you to make the work costumes and allow you to do “work” specifically for the event that is currently running. These event-special “work” gives you slightly more event points than regular “work”. Regular “work” earns you 250 points while event-special “work” earns you 375 points. While there isn't much of a difference, you will be surprised how much they can add up to over time.

Moreover, event-special “work” also earns you event ribbons which regular “work” doesn’t and these ribbons can be exchanged for big status pieces and even daiyas at the token exchange store!
Which brings me to this.
Ways to get Daiyas from the event.
The second thing you should prioritise your ribbons for should be the daiyas!
You can get up to 90 free daiyas from the store, which is 10% of the daiyas you need for the event!!!
© Happy Elements K.K
Disclaimer: All rights to Happy Elements, I do not own anything.
You also get daiyas and whistles along the way as rewards by hitting certain amounts of event points, which reduces your daiya usage so remember to claim them in your “present” box!

The last way I can think of to get daiyas from the event would be to play every difficulty mode of the event song. I know “expert” mode might seem a little intimidating for some of you, but all you have to do is clear the song once, and you will get 3 daiyas as reward. It’s okay for you to get a C-grade for the song. :)

And this gives you 12 daiyas if you clear all difficulty modes, from easy to expert. And if you are skilled enough and manage to get full combos and perfect combos, you will also receive additional daiyas as rewards! xD
That’s all the tips I have for unit song/shuffle unit events! I hope these help. :)
Stay tuned for the Tour event tips!
